Sundance & Provo Canyon Area Guide
Sundance, Utah
Sundance is a mountain resort community in the North Fork of Provo Canyon, on the east side of Mount Timpanogos in Utah County. Robert Redford bought the land in 1969 and named it Sundance; the resort is known for its focus on nature and the arts.
Winter
Sundance Mountain Resort offers downhill skiing and snowboarding, plus Nordic trails in winter. Lower Hollow is about a 5-minute walk to the lifts, which makes it an easy Sundance ski condo base.
Summer & Fall
Warm months bring hiking, mountain biking and scenic lift rides. Stewart Falls, reached by trail from the Sundance area, is a popular hike. Fall color in Provo Canyon and along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway draws visitors each autumn.
Provo Canyon
Provo Canyon runs between Provo/Orem and Heber Valley along US-189, with Bridal Veil Falls, the Provo River and the Provo River Parkway trail.
Sundance Film Festival
If you are looking for Sundance Film Festival lodging for a group, a 2-bedroom condo that sleeps 7 can be a comfortable option. Ask about your dates.
Arts & Dining
The resort has on-site restaurants and arts programs, reflecting Redford's vision for the property.
